National Urban Conclave 2025 – Housing Ecosystem: Making Housing Accessible to Everyone
Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Fund Management Corporation Limited (TNIFMC) participated in the National Urban Conclave 2025 – Sustainable Urban Development and Governance, organised by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) on 8–9 November 2025 at Yashobhoomi, India International Convention Center (IICC), Dwarka, New Delhi.
The conclave brought together policymakers, city leaders, experts, and practitioners from across the country to deliberate on key aspects of India’s urban transformation under six thematic areas, including Housing Ecosystem – Making Housing Accessible to Everyone. During the breakout session on Housing Ecosystem, Mr Srinivas Sampath, PhD, Director (Emerging Business Areas), Asian Development Bank, presented an overview of Tamil Nadu’s housing landscape and highlighted the role of the Tamil Nadu Shelter Fund (TNSF) in promoting affordable and dignified housing solutions across the state.

This was followed by a presentation from Mr Krishna Chaitanya, CEO, TNIFMC Limited, who shared insights on TNSF’s project initiatives and innovative financing models, showcasing their positive impact on the development of high-quality rental and ownership housing units in Tamil Nadu. Mr Sathanbabu Mathankumar, CFA, Fund Manager (TNSF), also participated in the session.
The session provided a platform for dialogue on how structured finance, public-private partnerships, and enabling policy frameworks can strengthen the housing ecosystem and make housing more accessible to all sections of society. Discussions also focused on the replicability of Tamil Nadu’s Shelter Fund and rental housing models across other states.
