Throughout his career, he has held key leadership positions and gained valuable fund life cycle expertise with notable organizations including ICICI Ventures, JumpStart up, Rajasthan Venture Capital Fund, and StartupXseed Ventures. Additionally, he has contributed as a founding member to three startups in diverse domains like group messaging, quantitative trading, and micropayments. He has further made contributions through angel investing and advisory roles in numerous startup ventures.

Educationally, he holds an honours degree in Chemical Engineering from NIT, Trichy and an MBA (PGDBM) from XLRI, Jamshedpur.

His contributions include the design and standardization of infrastructure project structures, bid criteria and evaluation methodologies.

Krishna Chaitanya K is a seasoned entrepreneur and fund management expert, boasting over two decades of experience in investing in emerging markets globally. His extensive skill set spans origination, execution, and portfolio management, as well as fundraising for private equity, debt raising, debt syndication, debt structuring, and project appraisal.

In his latest entrepreneurial venture, Krishna achieved impressive growth in the assets of the operating lease platform, achieving a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 30%. He successfully secured two rounds of funding, leading the company to profitability. Additionally, he set up a promising pipeline of additional leased assets valued at approximately US$300 million, resulting in substantial returns for initial investors.

Prior to his entrepreneurial endeavours, he held the position of CEO at an Asset Management Company with a focus on the infrastructure sector. During this tenure, he effectively concluded private equity transactions exceeding US $2 billion, spearheading a majority of them. Furthermore, he managed structured financing transactions amounting to over US$500 million. In parallel, he provided advisory services for a range of transactions in emerging markets, particularly within the economic and social infrastructure sectors. Notably, he designed and implemented a unique 'Impact Investment Model' across the investment life cycle.

Krishna started his career with L&T finance as part of the Real estate funding team (Chennai). He later moved to Sundaram Alternative (Cat-II AIF) in the Real Estate team, where he had assisted the Fund Manager in managing more than 800 Crores portfolio projects and in appraisal of various new proposals.

He has completed his MBA (Finance) from BIM, Trichy and he also holds a Mechanical engineering degree from Sona College of Technology, Salem.

The last business, L&T Infrastructure Project Development Ltd., successfully completed a Rs 1,500 Cr refinancing agreement. He has had positions as a financial analyst and consultant for Mott MacDonald as well as other companies. Sathanbabu is a seasoned investment professional with extensive experience throughout the deal life cycle, particularly in various real estate deals. Additionally, he possesses a wealth of experience as a credit analyst, accumulating a total of approximately 15 years in the field.

Before joining TNIFMC, Sathanbabu was associated with Piramal Capital, where he effectively managed a portfolio of real estate investments amounting to over Rs 1,000 Crore (Debt/Equity). Prior to his tenure at Piramal, he held a significant role at ICRA Limited (a Moody’s Investor Services Company), leading the assessment of large corporate ratings in the steel and mining sector within South India. In this capacity, he rated and evaluated over 100 entities across various industries in the South Indian region. His expertise in credit rating extends to a wide range of entities, encompassing partnerships, listed entities, and corporations, among others.

Education-wise, Sathanbabu holds a PGDM from IIM Kozhikode, where he was honoured with the Gold Medal for Academic Excellence, securing the Institute Rank 1. He pursued his Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy.
