EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) is a Green Building Certification system focused on making buildings more resource-efficient. An innovation of International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, it empowers developers and builders to quickly identify the most cost-effective ways to reduce energy use, water use and embodied energy in materials. To meet our commitment to the Environment, one of the pre-requisites for investing in projects is a Green Building Certification by IFC – EDGE or equivalent.
To demonstrate our commitment to the Environment and Planet, we endeavoured to obtain the EDGE certification for our own office. Being close to the Adyar Eco Park, which is around 100 acres of lush greenery, the office of the TNIFMC is the first Government building in India to receive an EDGE certification.
