Krishnamurthy Vijayan
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Krishnamurthy Vijayan is a veteran of the fund management industry,
having worked for over 25 years of which 15 years have been at the Managing Director or equivalent level. He has extensive experience with regulated fund management
and has twice served on the governing board of the Association of Mutual Funds of India (“AMFI”). A brief profile of his fund industry experience is as under:
- 2011-2015: Promoter and Managing Director of Charioteer I4L Private Limited, an asset management company to the Charioteer Fund registered with SEBI
as a Category I (Social) AIF (subsequently de-registered) and advisor on resource mobilization for social and socio-commercial organizations.
- 2010-2011: Joined IDBI Mutual Fund and grew the mutual fund to Rs. 6000 crores. Unique focus on index funds and market of public sector
undertaking employees and security personnel.
- 2005-2010: Executive chairman of JPMorgan India Asset Management Company. Grew equity Asset Under Management (“AUM”) to Rs. 1800 Crores and overall to Rs. 5000 Crores.
- 2000-2005: CEO of JM Mutual. Grew AUM in OES from Rs. 90 Crores to Rs. 4700 Crores launched mega ‘Arbitrage Fund’ with 828 Crores NFO.
- 1995-2000: Jardine Fleming AMC. As Assistant Director, was in charge of all non-investment functions. After taking charge of Sales in May 1999,
grew AUM from Rs. 4.5 Crores to Rs. 270 Crores without increasing costs.
- 1986-1995: Joined UTI as Officer and was identified as a high-performer as a result of successes in some difficult assignments. Was part of a number of new initiatives in UTI including its re-structuring, Technology Upgrade Project and set-up of UTI-ICM and UTI Bank.
Since late 2011 he has also played an active part in social work and a governance role on various organizations:
- Advisory work with Governments on Financial Structures (Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh).
- Serving on the boards of SBI MF (Trustee), Aptus Housing and Strategic Council of IFMR AMC.
- Working with political offices of Naveen Jindal, (Sujana) Y S Chowdary and K G Shanker to develop socio-economic solutions for livelihood and rural development.
- Working on the board of trustees of 3 (Three) NGOs in the area of child welfare.
