Mr. K. Desiraju is an IAS Officer (Retired) and was the Union Secretary, Health and Family Welfare. An officer of the IAS (batch of 1978) and an alumnus of the University of Mumbai, University of Cambridge and Harvard University, he has held many positions in the Government, his previous stint was that of an additional secretary in the same Ministry. Desiraju has been described as a visionary and a man of action with enormous capacity to articulate complex ideas.
