Mr Taufique is a senior business leader and investment executive with over 30 years’ experience spanning global businesses, including 20 years with the World Bank Group's International Finance Corporation (IFC) and over 10 years in the private sector. Following his MBA, Mr Taufique began his career with IFC in Washington, D.C. where he led several investment divisions, before moving to Hong Kong to set up IFC’s regional hub covering China, Malaysia, Indonesia and other Asian countries. He went on to set up and head IFC’s office in Dubai for their initiatives in Middle East and Africa and as a regional hub. He then joined Investcorp to set up and grow their business in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey. Among his various activities, he currently is Founder and Chairman of Blue Monsoon, an investment advisory firm based in Singapore and Washington, D.C. and co- founder and Managing Partner of Feronia Capital Partners, a Switzerland based fund manager which manages a portfolio of investment vehicles, including a listed infrastructure fund in Turkey. Mr. Taufique has a strong background in managing complex stakeholder relationships and governance at Board and other senior levels, has set up and advised several global funds from inception to operations, and has extensive operations and management experience in developed and emerging markets, corporate restructurings and in creating public-private partnerships across a broad range of asset classes and industries, including infrastructure, healthcare, real estate, extractive and industrial sectors.
